Scared Heart Girls College Oakleigh

The Spirit of Sacred Heart

Sacred Heart Girls’ College was established by the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions in 1957. While the sisters no longer administer the College, their spirit and influence remain in both the spiritual and academic life of the school.

Sacred Heart Girls’ College successfully integrates the aim of academic excellence with personal development and Christian leadership.

It provides a happy, supportive and disciplined environment conducive to the achievement of individual success in learning and the fostering of confident, responsible young women.

The community of approximately 1000 students and 100 specialist staff is one where Gospel values are not only taught but also lived. The emphasis is on respect for others, for the environment and an awareness of our social responsibility.

Sacred Heart Girls’ College consciously strives to build a culture of learning in a Christ-centered environment. The young women of Sacred Heart are encouraged to develop their faith and demonstrate a vision of Christian womanhood, emphasising commitment, leadership and service.

Education for life is our goal. The College aims to do this within a tradition of faith and a dynamic and extended educational environment where each young woman is supported and challenged to reach her personal goals.
