Always striving upwards

Acting Principal

A warm welcome back to all our students and families. I hope it has been a positive experience for everyone, especially for those who are new to the Sacred Heart community. It certainly has been a busy start to 2025 with many activities already having occurred; the Year 12 Retreat, Year 7 IT Bootcamp, House Swimming Carnival, Year 7 Parent and Carers Welcome Night, Year 12 Formal, and the 2024 High Achievers’ assembly. Many of which I’m sure you’ll read about in this or future editions. And this is in addition to all students settling into the routine of lessons and experiencing a new suite of subjects.

On Monday evening we were very excited to welcome 11 students and two staff from our RNDM sister school, Notre Dame des Missions in Charenton-le-Pont, Paris. Our French guests will be with us for two weeks and will spend some time in classes further developing their English language skills, as well as gaining a greater awareness of schooling in Australia. We are most grateful to the families who have offered to host students for without their generosity this opportunity to forge connections with our global partners would not be possible.

DEPUTY PRINCIPAL - STUDENTS

Leaping into 2025!

The first few weeks of the year is always an exciting period in schools, a time of “newness” and change. We have welcomed new students and parents and students have moved onto a new year level with a new Homeroom group and discovering new subjects. It is an important opportunity to settle in and orientate ourselves for growth in mind, body and spirit as individuals and as a community.

This year, we also brought in new uniform items. It is wonderful to see so many students in the new, bright and more comfortable sports and PE uniform. If you have not seen the new uniform items, please check out our social media posts or visit the display in the school foyer when you are next at the College.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our Sacred Heart community the best for the 2025 school year. For parents and carers, let’s start the year together at the Welcome Evenings so we can meet face to face.

We look forward to working together, each of us seeking the best for the young people in our care.
