Melbourne Marathon

For a consecutive year Sacred Heart Girls' College were represented at the Melbourne Marathon Festival. Congratulations to the 36 SHGC students and two staff who ran in either the 10km or 5km race, along with a record 42,000 runners.

The weather was ideal for the 10km runners who started early at 7:30am, enjoying a run through Melbourne's CBD and nearby suburbs. By late morning, temperatures rose for the 5km runners, all of whom completed the course, with several students finishing in under 30 minutes. All SHGC runners wrapped up their race with a lap around the MCG before collecting their medals at the finish line.

Thanks to Ms Smith and Miss McCallum who also ran on the day and assisted students getting to the start line.
