With Term 4 well underway a milestone in the life of our Year 12 Class of 2024 was fittingly celebrated. The College community gathered for the Class of 2024’s Formal Assembly on Wednesday, 16 October. Each member of the class was welcomed to the assembly, with recognition given to the senior student leaders. The College Captains, Isabelle Devadass and Dezi Kydas gave their final speech. In this, they reflected on their time at Sacred Heart and encouraged all gathered to make the most of every opportunity they encountered.
On Friday evening the Year 12 students enjoyed a few hours of dancing and singing. At this event, these students raised over $4,000 for the support of the young Dulangan Manobo women of the Delesan Kailawan Centre in Mindanao. This money will support young women as they move into tertiary education.
The final day for the Year 12s began with morning tea with the staff followed by a fun assembly. The College community gathered in the courtyard to form a guard of honour as the Year 12s left the grounds of Sacred Heart. In the evening the students gathered for the Valedictory Mass and Graduation at St Jude’s in Scoresby. This was followed by dinner at Cathie’s Lane Receptions.
Three significant awards were announced over this time. These are:
- Valedictorian 2024 - Chloe Boucherat
- Euphrasie Barbier Award – Amy Nawarathna
- Principal’s Award – Ava Chiaravalle
Congratulations to these outstanding members of the Sacred Heart community.
So, the focus of the Year 12 students now turns to their exams. We offer them every blessing through this challenging, yet exciting period.
