CGSAV Junior Softball Champions

The final CGSAV sport for 2024 was Softball on a warm spring day. Students and staff appreciated the shorter bus ride to Jells Park, Wheelers Hill rather than the 2023 venue of Geelong.

The day started slowly with all three SHGC teams, Junior, Intermediate and Senior losing their Round 1 match. From there performances picked up and by the end of the round robin matches all SHGC teams qualified for their Grand Finals.

The Juniors and Intermediates won through to the Grand Finals with our youngest team prevailing 14 -1 against OLSH. The win was secured when bases were loaded and our Victorian softball representative, Elise H, hit a ‘grand slam’ to bring home four runs. This performance earned her the Grand Final MVP medal.

Our Inters lost their Grand Final to Avila College 7-1 but was still a great performance to get that far in the competition.
